SBB™ SINGLE BOX BATTERIES

The BN52V-314-16k SBB™ MKII (read “Single Box Battery, Mark 2”) is the first new 48V system-compatible battery added to the SBB™ Series since its conception with the introduction of the original BN52V-280-14.5k SBB™ (included on this page below). In comparison to the original, the new SBB™ MKII has been extensively improved in (but not limited to) the following areas:

– Capacity per unit increased by >10% (from 14.5kWh to 16kWh).
– Max. number of units connectable in parallel increased to 15P (up to 241kWh).
– Improved serial communication & compatibility with a wider range of peripheral hardware.

BlueNova’s SBB MKII features active cell balancing, offering a more advanced approach than conventional passive balancing. Instead of wasting excess energy in the form of heat, active balancing redistributes energy between cells, supporting higher efficiency, lower heat build-up, faster equalisation and improved usable capacity.

The SBB MKII provides active balancing during charging with a peak balancing current of up to 2A to maintain tighter cell consistency, improve battery performance and support extended service life in residential energy storage applications.

The original SBB™ series is built for simple, scalable energy storage, delivering 14.5kWh of premium LiFePO₄ capacity per module. Up to 9 modules can be connected in parallel, offering over 130kWh of reliable, high-performance storage for a range of applications.

Each module features an upgraded Battery Management System (BMS), based on BlueNova’s proven High Current and Battery Rack Series. The new BMS boosts charge efficiency, enhances monitoring, and ensures full compatibility with existing HC and NG installations.
